Half-Life was published almost a year later in Nov. The guy just wants to know how to make the game look Quake 2 was published in Dec. I'm a classic gamer - all the way back to the old coin-ops - and even I find this to be rather rude. enjoy where current gaming came from and see how us OG gamers used to do things. if you were a true gamer and knew things about gaming, you would know this franchise set the tone (along with a few other fps's) for the current fps games/esports.
enjoy the classics or go play hello kitty HD. Originally posted by Axis:its 90s gaming mr entitled milinial. It does work better at preserving the dynamic lights on the weapons while brightening everything up. There's also R1GL, which is an alternate OpenGL mini driver for Quake 2, but you need to configure it. That does have the issue of killing dynamic light effects if that sort of thing matters to you. If you have the brightness slider way to the right it will wash the textures out as well. One thing to be aware of is that Quake 2 renders really dark on modern hardware. Best to put them in an autoexec.cfg file in your quake2\baseq2 directory so they auto load: First, be sure you're running in OpenGL video in the video options, and make sure the slider is all the way to the right for starters.įrom the console, you can set these options.
